Scott Lybrand joined Episcopal Charities and Community Services in June of 2012 as the Program Director of The Julian Year. Scott has a passion for ministry with young adults and for identifying and developing young leaders for the church and for the world. Recently, he served as a lay leader at Urban Village Church, a new church community in Chicago, where he helped launch a new worship site and build and support a team of young-adult leaders.
Scott is also interested in spiritual practices, and leads small groups and retreats on Christian prayer practices. As a former manager for Hillstone Restaurant Group, he is also focused on hospitality as a basic Christian practice, and believes that community is best formed around good food and good conversation.
Scott is a member of Church of the Atonement in Edgewater and lives in Rogers Park. A native Southerner, he has an undergraduate degree in Chemistry (with a minor in Bible) from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.
